Building Community Through Education and Support
As part of the Pink Palmetto Project, the South Carolina Cancer Alliance continues to host its ongoing Women's Health Circle Lunch & Learns, a virtual series designed to educate, connect, and empower women across South Carolina.

Held on the third Wednesday of each month, these sessions bring together participating salon partners, community members, and their clients in a welcoming and supportive space. The Lunch & Learns focus on increasing awareness of breast and cervical cancer, as well as other important health topics, while encouraging open conversation and shared learning.

Through this initiative, salon environments extend beyond beauty services to become trusted spaces for health education. Participants gain access to simple, easy-to-understand information, resources for cancer prevention and early detection, and opportunities to ask questions in a safe, judgment-free setting.

The Women's Health Circle also strengthens relationships between community members and the Pink Palmetto Project, reinforcing the importance of trusted messengers, such as stylists and salon owners, in advancing health equity and improving outcomes for women across the state.
