Research Objectives

SC Environmental Cancer Risk Initiative : By 2028, establish a South Carolina Environmental Cancer Risk Workgroup that convenes partners to advance environmental cancer risk education and promote evidence-based prevention practices statewide.

Strengthening CoC Accreditation Across SC Cancer Programs : By 2031, support Commission on Cancer (CoC)-accredited SC cancer programs in activities for shared learning, technical assistance, and quality improvement across the full cancer continuum.

Expand Clinical-Trial and Research Access : By 2030, increase awareness of and access to cancer clinical trials and research across SC.

Build a Statewide Cancer Research & Innovation Priorities Inventory : By 2029, compile and publish a statewide cancer research and innovation priorities inventory in which each workgroup names its top research questions.

Convene an Ad Hoc Guideline-Review and White Paper Group : By 2030, convene an ad hoc expert group to review emerging cancer screening and diagnosis guidelines and methods and produce white papers that inform SC practice and policy.
